Project Life (continued) - Mar 31, 2013

Okay, we continue from the last post...

These next three 3x4 filler cards are made with punches and/or stamps from Stampin' Up. The first one I also used the Print & Cut feature on the Silhouette Cameo for the grey square and the printing.

The next two are 4x6 Journal Cards. The flowers were cut on the Cameo using Bo Bunny paper. The leaves were also cut on the Cameo using Bazzill.

Project Life - Mar 31, 2013

Post number three today!!

This one is on a different topic though. Thankfully!

I have been pouring over Pinterest and getting lots of great ideas for 3x4 filler cards and journal cards for my Project Life. You just NEED fillers sometimes!!

Anyway, here are a bunch I've been working on. These first two are copied almost directly as I saw them on Pinterest. I just loved them.

These next fillers are from my own head. The were cut using the Silhouette Cameo and the bottom one has purchased paper flowers added to it.

This next one was also done on the Cameo but I used the Print & Cut function as I thought the yellow flowers were just too small to cut well. I added a bit of orange Stickles as well and then matted on yellow.

(I have to move on to a new post as I've used up my space....)

Photo Project(2) - Mar 31, 2013

Part two of today's post.

081 - On The Wall (This is a plaque hanging right beside my desk that my sister gave me years ago.)

082 - Texture (I bought some doilies from Stampin' Up. They are very fun to use on scrapping projects - especially cards.)

083 - Currently Reading (This is my Kindle and the book I'm reading now. Can't believe I've never read any Lee Child before. I'm really enjoying it.)

084 - A Pinecone (Taken with my cellphone. I should have waited until I got to my kids' place. They have a TON of large pinecones on their porch!)

085 - Colour (A glass full of buttons. I love this one!)

090 - Baskes (I'm sure they were thinking Easter baskets but I don't do Easter. This is the basked of stuff on my big tub (that I never use!). I should probably dust this...)

Photo Project - Mar 31, 2013

I was up early today so I thought I'd add the rest of my Project 365 photos that I have done up so far this month.

077 - Spots (These are earth magnets on my fridge from Lee Valley. I don't know why I have them as I stick very little to my fridge! Maybe when I have grandchildren I'll need them. LOL!)

078 - Play A Game (I don't play many games but these little veneer cut-outs for scrapbooking look just like a game to me. LOL!)

079 - Fresh (Canteloupe. I got nothin'.)

080 - Weather (I went for a walk and this is the typical view in Calgary in very early spring. A little snow, bare trees, brown grass and blue skies.)

Photo Project - Mar 30, 2013

We're moving the kids out of the house today and I'm just waiting for hubby to be ready so we can pick up the moving van.

I thought I'd use the time to post a few more photos from my photo project. I'm debating whether or not I'll continue posting these photos. It's a bit of work and I'm not sure people are even looking so I don't know if it's worth it or not. I'll have to think about it.

068 - Container (This is my washi tape collection and my baker's twine. I have lots and I'll probably get more. Sigh... it becomes an addiction.)

074 - Field of Green (We live on the Canadian Prairies. There ARE no "fields of green" right now so all I can give you is a dusty house plant. LOL!)

075 - Green (Another house plant. What can I say? I've been busy!!)

076 - Wearing of The Green (What can I say? The person coming up with these prompts is OBSESSED with St Pat's Day!! These little ladies were my grandmother's and I have them on my dresser in my bedroom.)

Photo Project - Mar 23, 2013

Once again I find myself playing catch-up with my 365 Photo project.

(I tried this post once today and totally screwed it up somehow so I might be a little short in my descriptions. LOL!!!)

065 - Full Speed (This is Country Hills Blvd. on my way to my new client's place. And yes, I was stopped at a light. I would never take a photo while actually driving!)

066 - New (Hubby with our new grand-niece, Brooklyn.)

067 - A Hobby (This is my Scrap Space. Yes, it deserves capitalization!!)

069 - Pot of Gold (The person coming up with these prompts obviously loves St. Patrick's Day but I don't!! Here is a set of coins from 1986. It was given to me by a good friend at a "21 Years Later" baby shower she had for me a few years ago. She was upset to hear that I had never had a baby shower for either of my babies so she threw one for me!!)

070 - Liquid (One of the favourite liquids in our house - RUM!)

071 - Shamrock (Again, I'm really not big into St. P's Day so this is my "Shamrock". This was actually very coo. This is a really old history book that belonged to my late father. I was just flipping through it the other day and found this pressed leaf. I have no idea who put it there or when. It's a mystery!)

072 - Messy (My Scrap Space again but this time before a major purge and cleanup.)

073 - Branches (I actually took this out of my car window. The tree was so colourful in such a drab world of Calgary winter.)

New52 & meeting my new grand-niece! - Mar 18, 2013

I have a new New52 to share but first I just HAVE to show you a photo of the cutest little thing - my new grand-niece. Isn't she precious!?

Okay. Enough of that cuteness!

Here is my New52 for this week. It's still VERY wintery here in Calgary so I didn't venture farther than my scraproom for this one. LOL!

Week 11 - Cutting several different papers at once in the Cameo.

This is the view on my screen in the Studio software for my Silhouette Cameo. The marked squares are 4"x4".

Here is the cardstock secured onto my cutting mat. I used scraps only!

And here it is after cutting it all out. The only problem I had was the dark blue cardstock was a textured (all the rest were regular cardstock) so it didn't cut all the way through. So, next time I'll be sure that ALL the cardstock is exactly the same weight.

Photo Project - Mar 18, 2013

Here are my next photos in the project!

61 - Old (An inukshuk someone put together on the frozen river.)

62 - Upside Down (Reflection of trees in a puddle.)

63 - Two (Scrolly things on a building. Kinda cool.)

64 - Lucky - Not (Our newest chip in the windshield. This one is so big (over a twonie in size) they can't even fix it!! Thanks Coquihalla.)

New52 - Mar 14, 2013

I have three weeks to add to my New52 today.

We were in Vancouver and were going to go to the Capilano Suspension Bridge but at $32 each it was just too expensive for what you get. Then we thought about Lynn Valley but on the way there were side-tracked to Burnaby Mountain Park.

We used to go up there all the time before we were married but haven't been in years. One thing we did this time was actually hike around a bit and saw much more of the park than we even knew was there. LOL!!

Week 8 - So, this is us all huddled against the rain and fog and wind!!

Week 9 - The next week we were back at home in Calgary and we went on our first Downtown Photowalk. I had seen this very cool wire structure and want to take some photos. This is me inside the structure.

Week 10 - This week I was so busy with work I didn't even think much about doing anything new. It was enough just to do what I HAD to do!! But a young friend had posted this Pin and raved about these gluten-free Peanut Butter Chocolate Brownies. Well, I don't know what I did wrong but mine did NOT turn out. They never cooked all the way through and I ended up throwing them out. This photo is from the original Pin as I wasn't going to take a shot of the mess I made!!

A New Card (Finally) - Mar 14, 2013

I finally got to work and made a new card. This is the prototype and I will make a whole bunch using all different colours.

I used Stampin' Up's butterfly stamp and matching punch and also Creative Memories' square punch.

I actually punched the small black squares from the black mat before so I wouldn't waste paper. This is a great way to use up coloured cardstock scraps.

Scraproom Reoganization - Mar 8, 2013

Today I decided I couldn't stand the mess in my office/scraproom another minute. I spent the WHOLE day fixing things up.

I purged a bunch of stuff (need to do a day of just purging though) and moved things around so that the stuff I use all the time is much more handy - but still put away!!

This is the west wall. This is where Taya works when she's over and when she's not this is where I spread out stuff. I have a wire hanging under the shelf but don't have a lot hanging on it at the moment. I keep my flowers on the shelf and Iris cases of PP on the little table at the end (by the typewriter).

This is the after. I moved the Iris cases into the closet.

This is the east wall. This is my waist-high drafting table and this is where I do all my scrapping. It's such a mess! I can't get at things and there is too much on the work surface.

This is the after. I moved a bunch of things into the two boxes under the table and reorganized almost EVERYTHING in the plastic storage beside the table. I also put my punches on the picture rail. I'll probably hang another towel rack to store more.

This is the closet on the north wall. I can't stand it!! I have client storage in there (a lot) and then a lot of crap.

I know it probably doesn't look like a big change but it's HUGE.
